The pair met through Julianne Hough, who is Derek’s sister, and Nina’s close friend.

The news of Nina Dobrev and Derek Hough’s split shocked many fans. Everything seemed to be going well, but as many celebrity couples find, the long distance relationship can be too hard.
“The distance was too much to handle,” an insider close to the pair revealed. “Julianne understands, and there are no hard feelings,” another source added.
